Hi.  There was a problem with the Weather Station this morning from about 07:30 ish, so if you think it got to 103mph, it was incorrect    Problem has now been sorted, it turned out to be a USB cable giving the wrong voltage to the weather memory unit. so hopfully the weather should run as normal until the next proplem.

Cheers

Hi John,

by chance I landed on Lewis again, what a joy!
I´ve been to the Islands in the late 90ies, this was always my prefered destination, but difficult ot reach from here. I love the winds and skies over there so much...

Your pics at flickr&here are overwhelming - thank you for sharing... did you ever post at spaceweather.com?

This morning I was searching for northern webcams(Norge, Scotland) to see how much the Iceland volcano plume affects skys east of it. Of course, without knowing status beforehand its hardly possible to draw comparisons.

Can you - as I assume -  longtime resident and skyviewer, make out any difference now?

greetings from Austria

Hi Mica.

Thanks for the flickr comments, yes I have had a few images on spaceweather, good site for keeping an eye on the solar activity.

We have notice a slight dust/ash on the rear of the cars today, (rear facing north) and we dont normaly see that kind of dust about up here, so may be it could be from plume.  We have only been here just over 11 years so still new to the Island.

The skies have been very full of darkish low cloud most of the day, until around 20:00 when blue sky came through, noticed on the sat images that the shetlands have had most of the plume over there way and the news reported ash there too.

This afternoon the cloud will reach northern Austria, we look out for red skies in the evening!
In Bergen, N people were smelling manure or foul eggs, is there any smell at your place?

Maybe your get more on Sat, jetstream changes direction:

Hello to everyone from Tarragona (Spain)

Weather stations today looking for Scotland have come to yours, I'm a fan of meteorology and very interesting to me yours, I would like to know when you refresh the rain, takes two hours checking and watching your webcam 0.4mm has been raining

Greetings!

Hi, the main reason that the rain may not update when you can see rain on the webcam is due to the rain being horizontal, the rain just blows over the top of the rain collector. its not been raining that much today, it just sticks the the glass infront of the cam.

Indeed, this year you bear 1200mm per year? WUnderground 416mm in places, which is correct?

Wunderground is online, the live weather is from the weather station backup, so Wuderground is only getting data when it is sent, we do get power cuts here. this weather station is only for an idea of local weather NOT to be relied up on! This weather station is an Amateur station and would take hours to keep correcting data so that was 100%.
