Hi.

The webcam image is not changing at times, this is due to our hosting company "webfusion" who are trying to solve the problem, but just do not understand what they have to do, thick or what!  The image is being loaded to the server ok but there hosting cache is not releasing the image, which is why the image will only change now and again.  We had the webcam running on 123-reg which works great but the banwidth is not very much there, this is why we us webfusion.

Hope this will be sorted ASAP.

Update on the web cam problem, the image should be working 100% now, turns out it was to do with the hosting accounts server and the cache, so fingers crossed it will be OK now.

I'm interested in how you get the webcam image up. It works on an iPhone, so can't be using flash.

I've got a couple of Panasonic webcams (have a look at http://www.alvor-algarve.co.uk) but use flash, so they are not available to everyone.

Nice to see the weather up in Lewis and thanks for your site.

Hi IanD

The image is just a standard JPG which is FTP'd direct from the webcam via scripts built in the StarDot camera, every 10 secs , every hour and every day at midday.  Any FTP program or webcam software will ftp a JPG image to your server from your webcam.

Cheers
